KV for introduction of Eggo Bites Puffed Pancakes. These are small snack finger food pancakes and I choose going with an illustrated line art hand in the KV because I wanted the bites to stand out, and the hand imediatelyly said finger food and gave scale to the product. The line art style was also inspired by art on the back of pack for heating instructions. Client asked for photo hand version but testing showed that people liked the illustrated hand more so that’s what they went with in the end.

The idea behind Bonnie Plants at Home Depot for this garden department signage was that Bonnie plants are the natural ingredients for your great recipes. Natural wood and random, top-down vegetable placement in these pieces created a fresh, picked from the garden, feel. Even the typography was chosen to convey that.
Created for Lowes describing the available herbs and tomatoes from Bonnie. Designed to look natural and like what you might see at a farmers garden.
A departure from the traditional plants in garden shots we usually designed for the client. This was about clearly communicating that if you bought all three products (Bonnie plant, plant food & Miracle-Gro soil) and used them together you would see measurable improvement in plant growth. So it was important to show the three products together, emphasize the word and the number 3, provide a check list of the products and we included a guaranteed stamp for good measure.

While the netted sack design of the product is simple, cost effective and all that is needed to protect a product already wrapped in wax, it doesn’t sit well on shelf. The product tends to sit in a pile and the Babybel logo compared to other brands in the same area can get buried or visually lost when on a shelf.. The solution was a simple thin cardboard wrap that would feature a large logo, allow space for promo messaging and let the product sit on shelf more neatly.

The idea for this Happy Meal Box came from those face swap books where you flip pages to swap out eyes, nose and mouth into fun combinations. Here perforated lines ran across the box allowing kids to break it up into top middle and bottom pieces. Then they were able to swap drivers, vehicles and wheels. The trick to designing this was getting everything to line up on all fours sides so when swapped they looked like they matched.
Happy Meals don’t always come in boxes, sometimes the are bagged. Since Tomigotchi originally came from Japan I wanted to capture that art style on the bag, and for a fun activity I was inspired by a fortune telling folding paper toy my sister and her friends used to make, as a nod to Japanese origami.
Happy Meal displays first job was to hold all the toys, but I always tried to create an environment that the characters would be in.

We explored both photoshop and illustrator versions. I did the illustration and the photoshop composition for the bus. We were also playing with the school notebook doodles look to help group the products into school related categories.

A series of photoshop composites done for an Off campaign while I was freelancing at TracyLocke. It started with pulling images and stock from a photo shoot together as client by off and as a detailed layout for the final retouchers. Outlining images, color adjusting, color matching, creating studio background and pedestals if needed.
The campaign was well received and they wanted to extend it to Canada after the photo shoot had already been done. So addition composites were done using found stock to create scenes. These had more of an outdoor scene look but some of the studio look was pulled in with simplified color backgrounds and horizon lines. I had done so well with the first sets that this last round was sent to directly to production with only minor production adjustments made.
We were tasked with updating the Pringles flavor cues with College basketball imagery. We updated original with a basketball and coach’s whistle, BBQ we placed the skillet in a basketball hoop and net, and for Sour Cream and Onion we changed the dip bowl into a basketball bowl. I didn’t the composites and image manipulation.
Photo composite created from stock as an exploration of what could be created if timing and money did not allow for a shoot. Ai was tried and not getting exactly what they wanted so I was asked to see what I could do with stock images. This helped convince the client to go with a photoshoot. and I was asked to do sketches for all the recipes for sell in. Those will be available view in the Concept Sketch section soon.
This was created for a July 4th mailer insert for Frito-Lay. I made the Grill square to hold copy in the inside cover, so the round grill was edited to be square, lid was scratch built and then extras added to create the 3 panels.

a series of sketches done for the TL Quaker team. I was asked to do sketches of recipes that the team was going to have photographed for a promotional website. I was give the ingredients a sample photo for the general style of photo they were going for and th various sizes the recipe would be cropped at. it was up to me to figure out composition, background elements and placement and to get as close to what the photos would look like as possible so clients could approve. originally we were going to go full color but after the first couple images were shown to the client for approval it was decided that the b/w sketches were doing what needed to be done for sell in. saving time and allowing for quicker and easier revisions if needed. the photos here are the final shots. It was nice seeing how closely many of them were to my original sketches. My time doing photoshoots with McDonalds and Kraft came in handy when connecting these.
