Key Responsibilities: Freelance Sr Art Director on SCJ Global, Kellogg and Tropicana accounts. Responsible for concepting and executing global marketing toolkits, displays and sales kits. Also helped with pre production, sketching concepts and photo comps to help sell in photoshoot sell in or pre retouching comps.. Global retail kits involved creating a key visual style guide and retail POS & digital examples. After realizing my talent for visualizing structural designs I was assigned to working on many of the global sales kits for SCJ. The kits doubled as samplers and presentation tools for sales team to sell as product placement in foreign retail outlets. Key Contributions:

  • Concepted and developed several global sales kits client considered Best in Class for Scrubbing Bubbles  Ziplock, Mrs. Meyers and Duck.

  • Concepted and executed toolkit designs across multiple POS elements, digital banners and home pages.

  • Supported creative team as needed in concepting, art direction, image creation needs ranging from sketches to pre production photo comps for sell in or communicating with photographers or retouchers.

  • Have been a consistent design resource for the agency filling in for art direction vacancies on teams when needed.

Key Responsibilities: After freelancing for several months I was brought on for creative development and execution of shopper marketing materials on Scotts Miracle-Gro for Walmart, Lowe's and Home Depot. I was hired for my production knowledge, design talent and as a retail design expert.

  • Design and execution of Scotts shopper marketing materials for Walmart, Lowes and Home Depot.

  • Mentored new designer on best retail marketing strategies, design and creating production friendly layout files.

Key Responsibilities: Freelance Associate Creative Director at various Arc Worldwide and Geometry Global; creating promotional signage and displays for Beam, SC Johnson, McDonald’s, Coke, Comcast, P&G and Intel.

Key Contributions:

  • Creative on Avatar promotional website for McDonald’s that featured Augmented reality and won a Reggie Award.

  • Worked with Leo Burnet Retail Design Team as a 3D designer on display innovations, and virtual stores. Clients included McDonald’s, Coke, Intel and P&G.

  • Execution of Coke Olympics signage.

  • Seasonal concepting and display designs for Pinaccle Vodkas, Hornitos, and Casa Suaza.

  • Creative support for McDonald’s in-store signage team as well as Happy Meals.

Key Responsibilities: Managing the creative development and execution of shopper marketing programs, focusing on the shopper’s in-store brand experience. Projects ranging from traditional in-store displays to dream state re-inventions of the shopping aisle.

Clients: Equal, Tombstone Pizza, KRAFT Foods, Quaker and Oscar Mayer

Key Responsibilities: Designing and developing promotional packaging and signage, interactive media, event marketing designs, and promotional concepting.

Key Contributions:

  • Designer of a new look for Equal Sweeteners, used in an award winning event marketing campaign centered around a branded coffee bar bus. It was extended to packaging, interactive media, and advertising. The campaign became a key case study, leading to the agency winning the Quaker account.

  • Development of promotional concepts and designs for Lunchables. Extensive knowledge of movies and kids’ properties was key to working with tie-in partners like Marvel Comics, Lemony Snicket, and Pirates of the Caribbean and bringing those promotions to life. Spearheaded the initial *promotional development of Lunchables Brigade characters and how the advertising characters would be used on packaging and online promotions.

  • Reignited the fun and excitement into Halloween for Tombstone pizza by engaging a monster movie poster artist to help create the displays.

 

Executive Art Director/Designer  Frankel, Chicago  2 years

Clients: McDonald’s, Target, Frito-Lay

Key Responsibilities: Designing and developing promotional packaging and signage, and interactive media.

Key Contributions:

  • Lead designer and creative contact with Lucas Arts on the Frito-Lay/Star Wars Episode 1 promotion. That success resulted in record sales for the Labor Day time period and continued with promotions for the DVD and Episode 2. Head of Frito-Lay marketing said Frankel had created the best game cards they had ever done.

  • Key creative in a Frankel / McDonald’s initiative to bring technology into the retail experience. Including the first Smart Card ordering kiosk, and multi- media menu boards.

  • Creative on McDonald’s account producing Happy Meals.
